President Bola Tinubu has declared that he will not be forced out of office by ongoing security challenges, accusing his political opponents of attempting to exploit insecurity to weaken his administration.
Speaking on the situation, Tinubu insisted that despite the pressures, he remains determined to seek a second term in office.
“My enemies want to use insecurity in the country to get rid of me, but I’m a stubborn politician who refuses to go, and I will campaign for my second term,” the President said.
His remarks come at a time of heightened concern over insecurity in various parts of Nigeria, with public debate intensifying over the government’s response to the challenges.
The statement has also revived discussions about Tinubu’s past positions on security issues before assuming office. As an opposition figure, he was a strong critic of previous administrations, particularly regarding their handling of insecurity.
Tinubu was also associated with the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, which drew global attention following the abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State, in 2014.
The Chibok incident, which occurred in the home state of Vice President Kashim Shettima, remains a reference point in Nigeria’s security discourse.
Despite mounting criticism, Tinubu maintained that he would not be deterred, reaffirming his resolve to continue his political journey and seek the mandate of Nigerians once again.
