Please, share this story:

The Ekiti State League of Supporters Group for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the Ekiti 2026 governorship election, Dr Wole Oluyede, has described as reckless and distasteful remarks made by former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, during a recent Channels TV interview in Abuja.

The Group says while his comments are largely viewed as a desperate bid for attention, it has become necessary to set the record straight and caution him against his habitual name-dropping.

In a news release by the leader of the Group, Chief Ademola Salami, titled”, Pattern of Political Deceit”, he noted that
Mr. Fayose’s comments are the hallmark of a man whose political credibility has collapsed under the weight of his own inconsistencies. His brand of politics defies logic and contradicts the basic tenets of common sense upheld anywhere else in the world.

The League highlights the following evidence of his double-dealing:
* Sabotaging the PDP: Despite claiming membership in the PDP, Mr. Fayose famously sponsored his own son to contest for the Ekiti House of Assembly under the banner of the APC.

* Campaigning for the Opposition: He has openly become the “lead orator” and chief campaigner for Biodun Oyebanji’s second-term bid, actively working against his own party’s interests.

* Material Support for Rivals: In a shocking display of anti-party activity, he donated a campaign office to the APC candidate in the Adebayo area of Ado Ekiti.

* Detachment from Reality
At a time when Ekiti people are groaning under economic hardship, Mr. Fayose has chosen personal gain over collective progress. His alliance with the very forces responsible for the state’s current challenges underscores how detached he has become from the struggles of the common man.

Mr Fayose’s brand of politics where one claims leadership in one party while providing offices and oratory for another is unheard of in any civilized democracy. It is a politics of confusion that the people of Ekiti have outgrown.

* Focus on the Future
Dr. Wole Oluyede will not dignify Mr. Fayose with the attention he craves. The PDP candidate remains steadfast and focused on the real task at hand:
Winning the forthcoming election to deliver a people-oriented government.
Restoring hope, prosperity, and dignity to the people of Ekiti.

* Ending the era of political theatrics and self-interest.
The people of Ekiti are wiser and more discerning. They are ready to reject the “merchants of confusion” and embrace a new Ekiti that works for all—far beyond the illusions of yesterday’s politics.
