As Muslims across the world commence the holy month of Ramadan, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has felicitated the Muslim Ummah in the state and across Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by his Special Adviser Media, Gani Salau, the PDP candidate called on Muslim Ummah to utilize the fasting period for prayers, worship, almsgiving, deep reflection, and support for the poor and vulnerable in society, noting that such acts attract abundant blessings from Allah.

He described the 30-day fast as one of the fundamental pillars of Islam, noting that its observance deepens spiritual consciousness, nurtures self-discipline, and strengthens the bond between the faithful and their creator.

According to him, the holy month of Ramadan offers a unique opportunity for spiritual rebirth, renewal, and rejuvenation, strengthening the relationship between Allah and the faithful.

Oluyede described the opportunity to witness and participate in the Ramadan fast as a special grace bestowed upon the faithful by Almighty Allah. He reminded them that not everyone who participated in the last year’s Ramadan is alive to witness the 2026 holy month, urging Muslims ummah not to take the privilege for granted.

He therefore urged Muslims to remain steadfast in prayers for Ekiti State and Nigeria, seeking divine guidance and intervention so that greater peace, progress, and prosperity may prevail.

Oluyede further appealed to the Muslim faithfuls to use the Ramadan period to pray particularly for the growth, economic development, peace, and tranquillity of Ekiti State.

“I urge you to pray fervently for peaceful election as we go to poll this year to elect another Governor that will pilot the affairs of our dear state for another four years at the same time have a smooth transition”.

He also implored them to remember the PDP and its governorship candidate in their prayers, stressing that only a PDP-led government can restore the “good old days” in the state and reposition it for economic well-being and improved security”.

“May the fasting and prayers that characterise the holy month of Ramadan bring us greater peace, progress, and abundant blessings,” Oluyede stated.
