Bowen University’s female graduand makes historic 5.0/5.0 CGPA

Lotechukwu Isioma Ikpo, a female student of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, has graduated with a historic result in the institution – being the first-ever graduate with a perfect 5.0/5.0 CGPA.

It was gathered that Bowen University, owned by the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), held its 25th Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

During the proceedings, Lotechukwu’s name rang a bell given the number of prizes and accolades she received for her academic feat.

Taking to its verified Facebook page late Monday night, the University said Miss Lotechukwu’s journey began with the Advanced Level Program and its wasn’t easy for her, adding that after losing her father in her second year, she turned her ”grief into fuel for success’.

The university wrote: “At our 25th Convocation Ceremony, one name lit up the hall — Lotechukwu Isioma Ikpo!

“Declared the Best Graduating Student, she made history as the first-ever graduate with a perfect 5.0/5.0 CGPA at Bowen University!

“Her journey began with the Advanced Level Program and wasn’t easy. After losing her father in her second year, Lotechukwu turned her grief into fuel for success.

“With tears of joy, she walked the stage multiple times, collecting countless awards, including a fully funded Master’s scholarship!

“Her story shows us that with passion and perseverance, there are no limits to what we can achieve. We’re so proud to be part of her journey!”

Turning to other students, the University admonished them: “Now, it’s your turn to write your own limitless story!”
