Former member of the House of Representatives and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Yemi Arokodare, has resigned from membership of the party.
According to a letter titled: RESIGNATION FROM THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY, addressed to the PDP Chairman, Ward D, Ijero Ekiti in Ekiti State, signed by Arokodare, a copy sent to The Pathfinder Newspaper on Thursday, the former lawmaker said that he took decision to resign from the party after a careful consideration and extensive consultation with his family, friends, political leaders and associates.
Arokodare explained that it was a tough decision to make, adding that to be a member of the PDP has been a significant part of his life.
He said over the years, he has worked with passion and conviction alongside many others who believe in the vision and ideals “we stand for. Together, we have experienced victories, setbacks, growth, and transformation. These moments have shaped me, and for them, I will always be grateful.”
Arokodare said though the time has come for him to take a different path, one that allows him to explore new perspectives and opportunities for service, growth, and impact, he remain thankful for the friendships, mentorship, and lessons gained while in the party.
He said, “I leave with no regrets and with deep respect for the leadership and members who continue to carry the party’s vision forward.”
Arokodare, a former commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission, has yet to disclose which party is joining.

RESIGNATION FROM THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY
After careful consideration and extensive consultation with family, friends, political leaders, and associates, I have made the decision to resign my membership from the People’s Democratic Party, effective immediately
This was not an easy decision for me. Being a member of this party has been a significant part of my life. Over the years, I have worked with passion and conviction alongside many others who believe in the vision and ideals we stand for. Together, we have experienced victories, setbacks, growth, and transformation. These moments have shaped me, and for them, I will always be grateful.
However, I believe the time has come for me to take a different path, one that allows me to explore new perspectives and opportunities for service, growth, and impact.
I remain thankful for the friendships, mentorship, and lessons gained during my time with the party. I leave with no regrets and with deep respect for the leadership and members who continue to carry the party’s vision forward.
Please accept this letter as my formal resignation, and kindly update the necessary quarters accordingly.
