Prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the Ekiti 2026 governorship election, Otunba Olugbenga Peter Obafemi (OPO) has appealed to voters in Osun State to come out en-masse to vote for all the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship and councillorship candidates in Saturday February 22, 2025 local government election to ensure sustained growth and development in the state.
In a statement signed by Olugbenga Peter Obafemi (OPO)Media Vanguard and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Obafemi said Local government remains the closest tier of government to the people at grassroots and proper avenue to deliver the dividend of democracy.
Obafemi, who expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious at the polls, said that Senator Jackson Ademola Adeleke will sustain efforts to ensure the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of Osun State.
“There can be balance in acceleration of development between the state and the local government when operators at the local government level belong to the same party as the governor.
“Never listen to the deceits of the All Progressive Congress(APC), which for many years retarded the progress and impoverished the people at the grassroots level through the implementation of obnoxious policies.
” Say No to the return of hunger and bad administration; vote PDP for the development and growth of Osun State. I have confidence in the leadership of Senator Ademola because he has performed excellently in the two years of his administration.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke is a man of his word. Whatever he says before you, he will fulfill it. I urge the people of the state to continue their support for Governor Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.
“I also urge all registered voters in the state to reject All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates and instead vote for all PDP chairmanship and councillorship candidates in the local government election. I urge people of Osun State to conduct themselves peacefully at all times.”
