In a live interview on the Arise Television anchored by popular TV journalist Rufai Oseni, a presidential spokesman, Daniel Bwala, became agitated when he was asked to respond to a question about his serial political shift.

The live interview, broadcast on Tuesday, escalated when Oseni questioned Bwala’s motivations for aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s administration despite his outspoken opposition to it in the past.

Bwala, who was visibly agitated, fired back at Oseni’s questioning, stating firmly, “Don’t ask me questions like I’m a secondary student.”

Despite the heat of the moment, Bwala remained resolute in defending his stance.

“My decision to serve is based on national interest, not personal gain. People evolve, perspectives change, and governance is about making an impact,” Bwala said, attempting to justify his decision to transition from opposition to becoming part of the ruling administration.

The clash between Bwala and Oseni, who pressed on with questions about whether the political realignment was purely opportunistic, quickly became a trending topic on social media.

In an X reaction man, identified as @MezieAbi, expressed disdain for Bwala, likening him to other political figures who have frequently changed positions for personal benefit.

“Daniel Bwala is a shameless man who speaks from both sides of the mouth… Men with no ounce of integrity,” the user remarked.

Conversely, others defended Bwala, asserting that he was entitled to change his views and that his decision to serve in government, despite prior criticisms, was a reflection of growth and commitment to national progress.

The interview sparked a broader debate on political integrity, with some users questioning the principles of politicians who flip their stances to suit the prevailing government.

@AnzehAjose wrote, “What else do we need to know that these politicians have no principles or ideologies? Selfish people.”

Meanwhile, others, such as @OlanrewajuMichael, criticized Oseni for pushing the issue too aggressively, arguing that Bwala’s appointment could be viewed as an opportunity to contribute to governance.
